The New Jersey Highlands Coalition, in association with the Morris Museum in Morristown NJ, will celebrate its 10th Annual Highlands Juried Art Exhibit with an exhibit to be held from October 20 to November 26, 2023. Selected entries will be featured in the museum's spacious Hedley Gallery. A reception and awards presentation will be held on Thursday, October 19 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. na dfrom 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.
Artists (adults, and youth under the ages of 18) are invited to submit works featuring the landscapes, flora, fauna, natural, cultural, or historic resources of the 4-state Highlands region, which stretches from Connecticut through New York and New Jersey, to Pennsylvania. Please note that works depicting flora and fauna taken outside of the Highlands will be accepted as long as those species are also found within the Highlands region (See links below for these areas*). Jurors will consider two- and three-dimensional paintings, drawings, pastels, original prints (lithographs, etchings, monoprints, serigraphs etc.), mixed-media, sculptures and photographs. Abstract images are also accepted as long as they are inspired by the New Jersey Highlands. Images created with AI (Artificial Intelligence) will not be accepted.
Proceeds support the Coalition's mission to help preserve the natural and cultural resources of this remarkable region of our state that supplies clean drinking water to over 6.2 million people.

EXPANSIVE OPPORTUNITIES FOR ACCEPTED ARTISTS INCLUDE:
1. All award-winning art, including honorable mentions, will be exhibited at a new artists’ showcase on Main Street in Boonton sometime in 2024 (pending completion of renovation on the planned venue. Dates and location to be announced). If those pieces are no longer available, artists will be invited to submit alternative pieces to be included in the auxiliary exhibits.
2. Prize-winning images will accompany press releases to be sent to prominent NJ news outlets and publications.
3. Selections from the exhibit will be posted on social media sites and featured on the New Jersey Highlands Coalition website https://njhighlandscoalition.org/
4. The entire exhibit will be archived (with artists’ permission) on its dedicated Annual Juried Art Exhibit website at https://highlandsart.org

ADULTS (age 18 and older by July 16, 2023): You may enter up to SIX (6) images. The fee is $10.00 total for the first three images, and $5 for each additional image.
YOUTH: There is no fee for entering the Youth Category. You may submit up to THREE (3) images.
